You know by now that you need to email me when you write a review! Who reads those "new review by author" mailings. I enjoyed this piece... what a nice commentary on automotive americana. Early 80's, ah, yes, what a rough time it was indeed.
This is an exemplary review. No automotive porn, just pure most helpful corn. Don't you wish all C&M reviews were like this? If they were, maybe they wouldn't be so special, but then again, I still enjoy them!
As with most of the pieces I rate MH, especially from the dons in our department, I will have to give it another read in a few days and email you as time allows.
Ciao!

That was the sound of my.. you got it,, 1990 Voyager review..
A woman came by the shop a couple of years ago and just gave it to us with 170K on the clock. the only problem it had was rear brakes which we took care of quick enough. We took all the rear seats out and use it as a parts runner, trash truck, moving van when one of the guys has things to move, bike mover, lawn mower and equipment fetcher.. it gets beat almost daily and keeps on a goin.. 3.0 with 3 spd.
Thanks for a great write up and good point getting your money's worth.

A yeoman piece of transportation without a lot of glitz. Thanks for underlining one of our stalwart troopers that most people never give a second thought. :>

but I drove a mini van for several years to and from craft shows. It was amazing how much stuff I could fit inside if the seat was removed!!
Very nice review as always,

So true...... (Reply to this comment)

...about the engines top end and the tranny problems. I doubt any of those late 80's or early 90's Voyagers got over 100K miles without addressing these two issues. Even today most all the Voyagers I see on the road, you can't help but notice the blueish gray plume of smoke that billows out the exhaust when they take off after sitting at a red light.
Talk about Chrysler's problems, when my wife and I were dating in the early 80's we mostly drove her 79 Omni 024 because it had A/C. That car had the weirdest mechanical problems I ever experienced, I'll share one. When the water pump started leaking it wasn't coming from the seal, but instead a warped housing.....
