I picked mine up this fall for a winter beater (didn't want to drive my Lincoln LS in the Michigan winter). I gave $200. It was the "crew car" out at the airport and only had 51,200 miles on her. I put new brakes and exhaust on her and a couple of tires off a parts car. Needed a CD player and got one from eBay. I have less than $400 into her and driver her all over. BUT, it is a little economy car and compared to my Lincoln... well, she ain't no Lincoln!! But for what she was built for, I can't complain. I get about 23mpg, should be higher, but the 3 speed tranny needs an OD. At 70mph she is turning over 3,000rpm. However, most of the driving I do is the back roads and she's fine for that. I have winter tires on the front and here in Michigan we get snow. I actually enjoy driving it. This is my first car for winter in quite a few years and it's alot better than the truck I used to drive! Heater seems weak, but with it sitting around alot before I got it, might have a clog somewhere (rodent nest or leaves).
It's 16 and I don't have to worry about it. If she dies tomorrow, I'll have gotten my money out of her and will part her out. The way shes running I think she'll be my runabout for quite a few years. # people I know have run these to 200,000+. So I guess I have about 150k more to go!!
