I have lot's of good things to say about the 1992 Bonneville (92-99 are almost all the same, they did have a few engine upgrades).
It drives very nice. This car is great for taking long trips in. The rear seats have more leg room than almost any other car or van I've been in. Lots of head room. The trunk is huge, and there is a pass through so you can grab items in the trunk from the back seat.
The heater controls and the radio are in easy to see and easy to reach locations.
Mine has lots of inside storage, with pockets in the doors, a center console, an overhead storage bin and an overhead flip-down glasses holder.
I bought mine with 120K miles on it. It now has 142K and it has been almost trouble free. I had to buy an alternator the day after I bought it (very common with GM vehicles), and recently I had to have the water pump replaced. The engine is fairly easy to work on.
I like my Bonneville so much that I think my next car will be another one. Just a little newer with less miles on it.
I get excellent gas mileage on the highway, sometimes as high as 32mpg (that's incredible for a 12 year old car with this much power). But in town I get about 17mpg, which isn't very good.
One last thing I'll mention. Starting in 1992 the Bonneville has very modern styling, both inside and out. If you look at even the 95 or 96 Pontiac Grand Prix, for example, it has a very 'dated' looking body style. But my '92 Bonneville looks very modern. The interior is very modern also, everything is smooth and rounded. Pontiac was ahead of their time when they designed this car.
