I've had this car for about 4 years, incurring multiple problems. I enjoyed this car most of the time while it worked, though after attempting to fix the air conditioning multiple times for only short-term functioning and around $1000 in repairs, I gave up on that. The muffler had to be replaced, though I wasn't too surprised considering the miles. A rust spot started above the rear wheel and has increased significantly, including above the other rear wheel.
Amongst other more minor problems not mentioned, I learned only after having three tires go flat at awful times that the tire valves on the original tires were faulty and had been previously recalled.
In the last year of having the car, a leak developed, soaking the passenger side floor each time it rained, and a strange electrical problem popped up, where the dials and radio would seem to short out momentarily while driving. I took it in this week to have the oil changed and the leak/electrical problems checked out only to have the mechanics tell me the transmission was bad and would cost about $3,600 to replace it with a refurbished one. Repairs to a Honda engine aren't cheap.
Since the price to fix the car was more than it's worth, I was forced to find another car to get me back on the road. I was again encouraged to consider a Honda, because of its reputation for reliability, but after this Honda, I couldn't bear to trust that reputation. Hondas are claimed to drive forever, and although mine did last a good 174,000 miles, it didn't live up to the claims of dealers and others for higher mileage.
