I had been wanting a new car for a while. When my 91 Geo Metro slid down an embankment into a telephone pole with my 2 month old daughter in the car (her door hit the pole), I decided it was time. I wanted one of two cars, either a 94 Grand AM or a Honda Accord.

I thought I would have to settle for something I didn't want until a friend told me about a Grand AM her husband was selling. He had used it for his job as a salesman so it had been kept up very well and he was selling it for the lease payoff which was minimal. I bought the car without driving it. I did test drive one at a dealership prior to talking to him.

I have loved my car from the first day I drove it home. It has been wonderful. With only minimal repairs and maintenance, it has served my family through three children. It is roomy enough to fit three large car seats in the back and still have leg room for my husband in the front seat. I have had other cars rear-end me without so much as a scratch. The only problem I have had with it is that the automatic door locks stopped working and we cannot figure out why. The car is like a Timex watch...it just keeps on ticking! This car will be around to see my daughter driving, I'm sure!
