Bear in mind, I am
not a mechanic. So I can only comment on how the car feels & looks to the driver. It's just WONDERFUL!
Extremely comfortable seats. Of course the back seat legroom isn't great, but the seats & passengers are still very comfortable.
Standard 5-speed transmission. Good gas mileage. Good-looking. Good handling. Reliable & secure brakes and stopping power.
The engine is "peppy". Clcoked Acceleration from 0 to 60 - RIGHT FLIPPIN' NOW! Extremely responsive transmission & engine. Hard
not to peel out.
However it seems to be a little slow on the uptake while climbing a hill on the highway.
When my wife & I moved from Los Angeles to South Carolina, we needed a car. Nothing fancy; just something to get us around town. Wowzers! Did we ever luck out!!!
The marvelous "handling" of this little car is best felt when taking right turns. The car feels "tight", staying in the right hand lane as you go all the way through the turn, no matter how fast you take it. No skidding, no fish-tailing.
The controls are all easily-accessible. Beneath the driver's left knee (next to the door) are two small levers. One to open the gas cap and another to pop the trunk. Electric window switches are between the driver & passenger.
It has a good AM/FM Cassette stereo with decent sound. Speakers in the front & back.
In front of the passenger, immediately above the glove compartment (which slides out like a large drawer above passengers knees) is a separate little door that opens down making a tiny table with two cup holders and room behind for food bars, sunglasses, CDs, etc.
A small compartment above in the ceiling between the driver & passenger can accomodate a cellphone, key-cards, sunglasses, cassette tapes, etc.
Another compartment (located between the driver & passenger & behind the stickshift) is large enough to hold a thermos, or an attache case and other clutter.
The back seat folds down enabling one to store very large (& long) objects in the trunk. If necessary, one can easily REMOVE the back seat altogether. Remember - all this from a "non-mechanic".
Tilt-steering and adjustable front seat makes it comfortable for any driver.
One of my favorite elements of this car is the engine. Remember I'm NOT mechanic so the first time I went to add oil, I was delighted to see a large oil cap. Not only does it clearly read "OIL", but in smaller print also tells you which type of oil to use.
Similar caps are used for the transmission & power-steering fluid. (God forbid this stuff should be easy!)
If you leave the headlights on, you'll hear a very audible electronic bell ring to get your attention. If you leave your keys in the ignition, the pleasant little bell rings twice as quickly sounding more frantic.
