95 Corvette Convertible

Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fast acceleration, good brakes, good handling
Cons: stereo isn't the best, ride can be ruff over bumpy roads
The Bottom Line: Overall a very nice car. Good Performance. Well built. It is a 2 seater so may not be practical for everyone.

I bought this car a few months ago and it being my daily driver I feel I have enough hours in it to write a review. I always wanted a corvette. With the new C6 (generation 6) corvette released this year the prices in the corvette market couldn’t be better for buyers. I saw the car advertised on eBay at a dealership one state over. After doing a car fax to make sure everything checked out, I drove the four hours to see it. Anyone thinking of buying a Vette, just drive it! You won’t want to get out of it. The car is a black exterior, black convertible top, and grey interior. It has most the options available: power windows, power sport seats, auto transmission, Bose gold stereo, climate control, abs, traction control. One drive is all it took for me to say "I’ll take it!"

The first thing I noticed was its a bit difficult getting in and out. This car isn’t for everyone. If you have back problems, the car is really low to the ground and the door sills on the C4 are very tall. Once you’re in, it is very comfortable. The sports seats with the lumbar support are very comfortable for long drives. The gauges, dash and buttons are very well laid out. Everything is in reach, it makes it kind of look something out of an aircraft. I can’t comment on road noise because the previous owner installed deafeningly loud sidepipes which allows my car to be heard several miles before being seen. The car is very quick. It does 0mph to 60mph in less than 5 seconds and has a top speed of 180mph. But very important, it can stop just as well as it goes. The brakes are amazing on this car. They saved me a few times from those old people changing lanes. The rock hard suspension is a big contributor to its good handling but makes for a kidney rattling experience on roads under construction. The Bose Gold stereo works by reflecting sound. With the top down, the bass was virtually gone. With the top up it sounded good but no where near my really high standards. After a week I ended up putting in a $2000 system. I haven’t had any mechanically problems yet. It seems to be very reliable.
