Pros: Handles well. Good looking car.
Cons: I think just about everything on it broke!
The Bottom Line: I would NOT recomend this thing to anyone short of a masochist. Sorry Ford.

I'll start this out bluntly.
This car was the worst vehicle i have ever owned.
It was nice at first.
A very attractive and well manered car to start with.
Handling was exceptional.
Ours was a white 4dr sedan -w- all the usuall power goodies.
But with the 4 cyl. automatic drivetrain.
It was spunky, but hardly awe inspiring.
After about a month things started to go wrong...:-(
The rear seatbelt buckes fell apart.
both of them. Ive never seen seatbelts fall apart before!
Then the engine cooling fan went out.
Ford (in all its wisdom) built the fan AND the shroud into 1 single unit.
So you cant replace one without the other. UGH!
Ford price? $350 I got mine at a salvage yard for 50 bucks.
Funny thing. 6 months after we got rid of the car we got a recall on the engine fan........again UGH!
Then there was the front brake caliper that kept banging against the wheel rim.
Ford decided to use a flimsy peice of spring wire to attach the brake caliper to the spindle instead of good old BOLTS.
So the dang thing decided it wanted to eat the front wheel every other week or so. one more time.....UGH!
Then the MOTOR went!
Ye gods!!!
Total rebuild needed, as the oil pump gave out and well shall we just say...........UGH!!!
Speaking of which, this thing was hades to perform routine maintenence on.
Without the use of ramps one needs to remove the right front wheel just to get to the oil filter.
What nincompoop engineered THAT????
Oh yes , sorry back to the broken stuff....
About 2 weeks after the engine rebuild, the transmission decides it wants to start shifting when IT wants to.
aaahhhh o.k. , 1 - 2 - 3 all together now......UUGGHH!!!!!!!
At that point i told my wife "the car goes....NOW!"
We traded it on a Hyundai Sonata, and have lived happily ever after.
aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! sigh.
PS: the real kicker here? i'm what most people would call a "Ford man". :-0
