Now, I should first mention that I bought this car in 2004, making it 9 years old when I got it. However, it had relatively low mileage (about 40,000) which made me think that I would get quite a bit of use out of it. I have put about 50,000 miles on it so far, and probably spent as much on repairs. I cannot say the number of times I've had to be towed home. At the moment I have no horn, the speakers have died, the hood latch is broken, and the paint is peeling significantly, leaving rust patches. I have also had to make major repairs, such as a new head gasket and fuel tank and pump. This car rides very low to the ground and often scrapes. While the seats and trunk are roomy enough, the interior is cheap looking. Oh I could go on forever with the number of problems this car has, but suffice it to say, the Neon is a pile. But, for those who need a vehicle with a low initial cost, and do not require many extras, this car may be suitable. Just remember that in the long run, this car will cost you, not to mention the frustration caused by having a car that brakes down and stands you.
