My husband and I bought our 1997 GMC Jimmy when we started trying to start a family. We wanted to have it almost paid for by the time our first child was born. Sadly, our baby is now 3 months old, and we are still paying! But it won't be long now! We really have enjoyed this SUV, and we have many options on the car that make it really fun. We have leather seats, CD player, sunroof, and automatic windows and doors. The most important piece of info, however, is that we have only had to pay for oil changes, a new battery, and a new alternator. (We've had the car for 3 years now.)

My only real complaint is that there is no interior light in the middle or rear of the vehicle. There is only one in the front. With a baby in the back seat, it can be frustrating when you are driving at night and can't see in the back. I'm not sure if this is true for later models, but it is true for the 1997 model.
