I have been driving a chevy cavalier since 1984. Two of them were in terrible accidents (once hit head on by a drunk driver, and another I was broadsided by a woman driving a Lincoln Continental)...I was not hurt in either of these accidents (of course I was wearing a seatbelt). Both of these accidents were before airbags too.
Anyway, I have always driven and felt secure in a Chevy Cavalier. My latest model is the 1998 4 door coupe pictured here and it is solid and reliable. For 2 years I drove it 160 miles a day to work and back, and it is still running like a dream (needed new tires, regular oil changes, but other than that, things are great!)
My husband drives the cavalier now that we have a daughter, because with her carseat and stroller, the cavalier doesn't leave much room for anything else like passengers or groceries! So, I drive the Chevy blazer and he has the cavalier.
People this is a great car for in my opinion are:
teens
college students
first car a new grad with a new job
a young married couple with no kids
an older couple or person with few passengers and looking to drive something smaller than a cadillac. It's a nice, solid and safe car.
