Well, Its not the best truck on the market, but its one of the least expensive. I'ld like to see someone get another brand new truck, with nearly every option for $10,000. Truck in question, a 99 B2500 SE.
The output of the engine isnt very impressive. Its a 2.5L i-4, rated at a dismal 114 hp. Althought torque is rated at 160 ft-lbs, that low hp rating is very apparent. The 5 spd is a must with the 2.5L engine option, as the automatic will have an even great parasitic effect and performance will suffer even more.
The B2500 may not be one of the best performers in the market, but it is one of the better looking. The partially flared bed is more attractive than the typical smooth bed, although a full flare side bed would be a welcomed option. The stock rims on the SE aren't that bad as far as stock rims go. The stock tires are pretty aggresive, which is very much welcomed, especially in this price range (trucks twice the price dont come with as wide tires!).
The interior is pretty dull, but it gets the job done. Definitely nothing special inside. The stock radio is so-so, a/c and heat work well enough.
All in all, the b2500 is a good value, but the SE option is a must(along with the 5 speed)!
