I'd like to further explain the experience of a machine that has blown me away in many aspects, I have been just driving my CLK 1999 coupe (76,000miles we are on Sep 2008)for 5 days, I am an electromechanical engineer that always dreamed with a company and people that really cares for the unsaid dreams of a person that appreciates quality, performance, style, service, trust, and my very first experience with such approach is this Mercedez CLK, driving the car for the first time made the above carachteristics revolve in my head, I had no more to do but to buy it without hesitations I was looking for silver and black interiors, that's what I got, I have made strong solid machines in my carrer and when I heard the sound and felt the stiffness of the automatic stick shifter I knew that the steel in this car has been treated and machined to perfection.

Thr car is somewhat heavy, but moves like a remote control car almost, that means that pedal (trigger) depressness equals displacement and acceleration, to me the sweet heaviness of the car is eliminated by MB with an exceptional non sleep study in the transmission and engine buried inside this car, proof of this is that the brake system borned to wake up little before time your right foot craves for speed so safety is intimately involved on this sports car.

The suspension tune in my opinion is firm and keeps this middle size 2 door coupe on the pavement as a cat on carpet while commanding respect with its acceleration as the cat chasing a rat with style.

This is the first car that I chose by myself and for me, research and homework paid off, driving the car withing this 5 days has been the best part of my day, imagine what is cooming.

Cons are that now at days the original stereo looks very 90's but who said that 90's aren't cool especially in LA? put some right music on this car and you won't care about it. Raw acceleration that hits your head against the head restricters is not present here as the downshifting has been carefully designed not to jerk the car around but to protect its vital organs when providing a powerful acceleration, the vital organs of this car have a computerized doctor always telling them how far they can go if they want to live long, however it feels that they can go anywhere anyways.
