I bought a 2000 Hyundai Accent GL from a chicago dealer in 2005 as my first car. It was cheap and reliable. The only thing was that the over drive started acting up and I had the parts replaced in the transmision. After looking up info about the car just recently I found that in 1999 and 2000 Hyundai accents have a defect in their transmision. I sold my car in 2007 and am now going to buy no older than a 2001 Hyundai Accent if I buy one again. I am now looking at a 2002 Hyundai Accent with 36K and it is a Manual! I want this car.
I loved this car after driving a 98' Chevy Blazer, and a 89' GMC pick-up. I recomend this car as long at it is a 2001 or newer. I didn't mind the acceleration and I loved the trunk space, everyone was always surprised in how much it could fit. Gas mileage is very important and I was getting 26-32 mpg. The car is kind of low to the ground so I recomend that you are nimble, my parents and grandma had a hard time getting out of the car, lol!
