Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Luxurious, Sporty, Spacious, Eye Candy!
Cons: Drink holders are too close together
The Bottom Line: The Bonneville SSEi is a great car and I recommend it as strong buy.

The Car of My Dreams

On my seventeenth birthday, I was surprised with the car of my dreams. A car not too big nor too small, but just luxurious and sporty enough for my taste. This car is a 2000 Bonneville SSEi built by General Motors. This car has the reputation of “an old persons car”, but when I sat behind the wheel, it definitely changed my view on the classification of this car. I compared this car to a Jaguar or a Lexus because of the luxurious style, but it’s less expensive than a Jaguar or Lexus. When the car was brand new, the maximum price was $32,000, unlike the Jaguar or Lexus price range that varies from $50,000 to $90,000. Overall, I would give this car a five star rating.
The exterior of the car shows how much the new Bonneville has developed since the first make of this model in 1957. My Pontiac Bonneville SSEi is equipped with many features that are quite exquisite. The cut edges of the body looks newer and more modern. The 17-inch chrome wheels, demonstrates new differences, because the older models did not come with chrome wheels as an accessory.
I admire that the Bonneville SSEi has standard features, that you wouldn’t find on just any automobile, that is purchased from a dealer. The silver metallic paint on the exterior of my car sparkles in the sunlight. Normally, most people would have to go out and spend extra money to customize their car to get a good looking paint job or chrome wheels. The exterior of the car also has double tail pipes on the back of the car, which gives it a sporty look, unlike the reputation of “an old persons car”.
I like listening to different radio stations while driving. Fortunately, the Bonneville’s programmable presets and speakers are made by Bose. The speakers sound very clear, this is a nice luxury feature of the Bonneville. Another feature of the radio system is that you can control almost all the controls directly from the steering wheel. When you change the station, you can see which station that you turned it to by looking directly forward in the “Heads Up Display” (HUD). The “Heads Up Display” is a device that displays images onto the inside of the windshield that allows the driver to view various information. This amazing feature helps me keep my eyes on the road, while driving.
Once you open one of the four doors to the Bonneville SSEi, and sit down in the comfy leather bucket seats, it’s very easy to relax. The Bonneville SSEi is designed to seat five people. I’m very comfortable in the Bonneville. There is plenty of leg room in the Bonneville SSEi, unlike a Volkswagen Beetle, where my legs are cramped because due to the lack of room. If you need to take four people with you on a long distance trip, it can easily be done. The Bonneville SSEi has a spacious trunk with lots of room for luggage. One time, I filled the trunk up to fit: five suitcases, a drink cooler, three boogie boards, a couple of big pillows, beach toys, and many other items for my family.
Passengers in the Bonneville SSEi, always have fun with all the different features. The heated leather seats, located in front of the Bonneville, are one of the favorite accessories of the person up front, especially during the cold winter months. Another feature in the Bonneville is that the seats move in a lot of different positions, this allows everyone in the car to feel more relaxed. Also there are two temperature control knobs up front, one is by the driver and the other is next to the passenger. These two knobs on the dashboard, can determine how hot or cold you want your side of the car; the system cools off or gets warm really fast, making it cozy for the passengers.
There are four drink holders in the Bonneville SSEi: two up front, and two in the back. The problem with the drink holders up front is that they are placed too close together. If you have anything bigger than a bottle of water then the drinks do not fit in the holders very well. This leads to a constant fight between who can get their cup out of the drink holes first.
Sitting in the driver’s seat of a Bonneville SSEI, reminds you of a cockpit in a plane because there are just so many different dials, buttons, and air vents surrounding you. The air vents can close or open, and also move in a 360-degree direction. The buttons and dials surrounding the driver are a wonderful luxury to have because each of them helps the driver control a different option of the car. This also includes the buttons located above, that are used for the opening and shutting of the sunroof.
The dials on the dashboard include the usual dials and the supercharge gauge. The supercharge is only included with the SSEi model. There is also a little screen to the right of all the dials, this is the information system for the Bonneville. The little screen helps you by informing, whether or not, to check: the battery, tire and oil pressure, fuel, and the engine. I adore the fact that the car has a mind of its own. If a malfunction occurs, the car informs me before the problem gets worse.
After driving the car for about a week, I decided that I really love the car. You can take your friends anywhere and have an exciting time, while playing the music and relaxing in the seats. This car was worth every penny. I would recommend The Bonneville SSEi to anyone who needs a lot of room in a car. This version of the Bonneville is a great investment in luxury and this car can no longer have the stereotype of “an old persons car”.
