Great sporty coupe

Pros: Great look, comfy, roomy interior, big trunk and glovebox, wonderful handling.
Cons: Paint chips/spiderwebs easily on fiberglass, middle seat in back uncomfy.
The Bottom Line: Great car for a single person, commuter, or somebody looking for a cheap sporty look that's also reliable.

I love my Sunfire. Bought it used in Sept. 2004, for $4,000. It has the Sun & Sound package (6 speakers, CD player, moonroof, etc.) and it is awesome. Let it be known that it is essentially a Cavalier, only MUCH nicer looking. Mine came with full tinting on all but the windshield, and alloy rims, and with a silver body, it all looks pretty sweet.

The inside is nice and roomy for being a 2-door, and comfy too. It handles great. I'm one of those people who takes corners WAAAAY too fast, but this car has yet to squeal or waver at all. Very stable. I recommend the standard manual transmission: it has both saved me gas, and gotten me out of a lot of slippery snow and ice situations that an automatic would have been stuck in. The manual tranny is geared really low, meaning you can be in 5th going 30mph, with no engine chugging.

Acceleration is great - it was nice to finally be able to pass people on the highway (after driving a slow minivan for three years, this was nice). I was originally concerned about it only being a 4-cylinder vehicle, but I have been pleasantly suprised, the engine is pretty powerful.

Mine didn't come with the stock CD player... so I can't say much about that. I've heard it's pretty neat, though. Keep in mind if you do decide to replace the stock stereo, chances are you'll either be going without, or spending extra cash, to hook up the door/light/etc chimes. Sunfire's play these chimes through the radio, so any new one is gonna have to be hooked up with an adapter = more money. Myself, I live without the annoying chimes.

One thing: I'm not sure if this is normal, but we couldn't jump this car with our van, OR one of those jump-start battery packs. I'm not sure if it's a battery power difference or what, but every time I've had to jump the car, we've had to call a tow truck to do it.

All in all, I love this car. Pontiacs are great, and the Sunfire is no exception. Body kits are available via the Pontiac website, and with few customizations, this car can look even better than it already does.
