I purchased my Pontiac Sunfire 2 dr. coupe in the summer of 2000. It had 21 miles on it when I drove it off the lot.
I have to say that I have only owned Fords until this purchase. I am now a bonafide Pontiac lover and will probably purchase another one when I get ready to buy again!
It might have issues with space if you are transporting lots of people or children, but for the average sized 4 adults, it's great. The back seat offers a nice size of leg room and the head room works nicely as well. The only person who wasn't totally comfortable was my cousin that is 6'4. Obviously he needs more space, but he tolerated it nicely for a short trip.
I have had virtually NO service issues with this car at all. Other than regular maintenance, I've only experienced 1 trip to the shop. This was for a popping sound that was coming from underneath the front end, which they determined was wheel bearings needing greased. The only disadvantage to this issue is that this particular car wasn't made in such a way that they can simply grease them. They are totally encased and must be replaced versus greased. No real issue and after 5 years, I would expect to replace something of this nature anyway!
Overall....great car. It's sporty on the outside, gets great gas mileage and has enough power for me to scoot in and out of Atlanta traffic with ease.
The trunk offers a tremendous amount of space for a small car and the back seat lays down to open up the packing capacity even more. This has worked very well for longer items. The only issue with the trunk is that if you are traveling with 4 adults and their luggage, you really have to pack light. It's a large trunk for the size car, but not the greatest to carry large quantities of luggage in!
Great for singles or as a starter car!
I LOVE mine and will keep it until it literally falls apart!
