IMPREZA WRX 2000 model, After reading many of the opinions on this car, I decided to take one for a drive. The car belongs to a friend of mine, I drove for quite a distance in this marvellous machine. The comfort, power, handling and economy were better than I expected. There is nothing this car cannot or does not do, after all it is a world renowned rally car. The problem is most people don't see the hidden costs involved in such a car. The new/ replacement parts and labour for a vehicle like this are out of this world. Also being a turbo'd vehicle the insurance is some what more than the average car. The resale value isn't that great either, a second hand WRX in top nick only picks up between $13-$16000 US. I myself am a professional Motor Trimmer, and I have seen loads of cars that are just as cumfie, fast and reliable as the Impreza except that there cheaper part and labour wise, have higher percentage resale price, and affordable insurance. In conclusion my opinion is that the Impreza is a car sold mainly by the name and rally reputation, and not enough proper thought and background knowledge is put into the decision to buy this vehicle.
