Pros: Good fuel economy, cd player standard
Cons: Kind of plain and boring
I owned a 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE from May of 2001 until March of 2003. During that time it performed as expected, with no major problems. It was recalled three times (new wheels, a bolt in the steering system and something else) but other than that I only went back to the dealer for one major routine maintenance. I changed the oil, put new tires on it, and it ran well. The car had a little more power than my wife's 99 Honda Civic, but was not overwhelming in the power department. The GXE comes with power windows and doorlocks, cruise, and a cd player standard. It did not have antilock breaks. Mine had a keyless entry system, which I recommend getting, it's worth the money. Overall the Sentra is a dependable car which costs little to maintain. If you are looking for a dependable commuter vehicle, it is one to consider.
