I was fed up with my '01 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. What a piece of garbage!! I researched reliability and came to Toyota. I first tested the Sequoia and loved it, but really couldn't afford it. I bought the 01' 4-runner used w/ 40K miles, and I love it!! Real bumpers are almost collectors items nowadays. Turn radius is amazing. Cargo space is great - the fold down seats are way easy. Driving it took a little getting used to...better slow down into sharp corners! But hey, it's not a sports car and I shouldn't be driving as fast as I do in the first place. I'd like a little more headroom in the driver's seat - traffic lights are easily blocked by the roof. I wouldn't fit if I were over 6' tall but I'm not. I've had no problems with it. I know that I could buy a full size Blazer and have a better overall ride. BUT having owned one, I also know that all the GM's will get you in the end when you pay to have all the ridiculous sensor lights turned off. So I might get a better ride, but not a better overall vehicle. I expect to keep my 4 Runner until it falls off the frame. My expectations are well over 200K miles. I'll review again in 5 years. If I owned a Pontiac, I would not be able to promise that.
