A Girl With a Tundra Does a Guy's Work

by little_kholly: Written: Oct 17 '06

Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: V-8 power, acceleration, smooth, size, leather interior
Cons: fuel economy, backseat space, narrow frame
The Bottom Line: If you do a lot of work like hauling stuff it's powerful and reliable. The work of the truck is as good as the looks of the truck too.

The Tundra was my first vehicle. I got it during the beginning of my senior year of high school. It was used but an excellent choice of a teenager girl, especially when I was living in a rural area where there's a lot of locations to go four-wheeling, hauling an ATV, hauling hay for my livestock, and hauling my horse trailer.

I'm a outdoorsy girl and I always have something to haul if not fourwheeling. My parents wouldn't usually let me use their Silverado is haul stuff until I got my Tundra. WE also have a Chevrolet Cheyenne '77 and it had power and had the intimidating looks but there was always something wrong with it. So despite the Tundra's small frame and same bed, the engine had a v-8, so it made it easier to tow stuff. It was four-wheeled and so all of the time we would be able to get out of any hard areas.

The drive was smooth and fast. I had a Sports Racer, so the acceleration is excellent. The ride was smooth on rough roads too. If there were any flaws that I would mention about the truck, it would be the fuel economy and since it had a v-8 engine it drunk about 8 miles to the gallon, which is about the same with our Chevy Cheyenne '77. So I would recommend that this truck only be used for work and not for traveling.

I had leather interior which was one of the best characteristics of the truck. The front seats were comfortable and the right size for me but the cab wasn't so spacious for my passengers. Also the the truck is a bit narrow so drivers have to be careful around curves.

Other than a the fuel economy, the tundra is the top truck on my list and unfortunately I couldn't afford to drive the Tundra between school and home so I traded it in for a car with better gallons to the mile. But for your FYI, I'm going to get another Tundra someday.
