Spiffy little car!

Pros: Sporty, Nice color, Styling.
Cons: Since it costs well over $15k, some things felt cheap in the car.
The Bottom Line: It's a great ride but the value starts dipping after 2-3 years. I was renting a 20,000 mile car.

I drove this car as a car rental (while my Integra was getting fixed)and the ride is typical of sporty compacts. GM doesn't usually make sporty compact cars like the imports do so I can only assume that the engine they used came from oversees since it was pretty responsive for a domestic engine.

The car has a unique styling which makes it look aggressive when it's just a nicely designed car with a lot of power. Ergonomics suffers a little bit since radio control/cd player which was built in were too tiny for me to handle. The interior totally sucks considering if you were driving a hot red car and you'd step inside a dark gray/blue like interior.. What were they thinking?

However, Since American car makers enjoy making SUVs.. it's compact cars.. are the cheapest things they can throw at unlike imports who take care of their compact owners. I believe the newer 2003 edition of the Sunfire is much more uglier than the 2001 models and I don't know where Pontiac/GM is going with it now.

If you like compact cars (I'm not short) as much as I do, you'll rather drive Japanese/German because they put cool stuff in it.. over here compacts are regarded as econo-cheap-boxes.. nothing else.
