Pros: Voluminous Interior Space, Robust Northstar Engine, Surprising Handling Ability
Cons: Seats Lack Support, Brakes are Slightly Mushy, Shoddy Worksmanship
I am an owner of the 2001 Deville with the Comfort Convenience package. The car is very similar to the 2003 model. The Deville possesses a great Northstar Engine. The engine is truly phenomenal at passing speeds in the low 20-30's. It simply blows by other cars. The interior space is quite spacious and very comfy. My car comes in shale. A nice interior color, but I hope Cadillac begins to offer more colors than the standard black and shale(beige). The car has a great radio, and is simply terrific on long drives. The car would get a stellar review, but it lacks one essential quality. Its workmanship stinks. The car's windshield has cracked on 2 occasions. Pebbles hit windshields. They are not supposed to crack that easliy, despite what the Cadillac service adviser suggested. There are so many minor problems to detail, but its simply to troubling. The car visits the shop often, and thats not a good thing. The Lexus and Infiniti cars simply are more reliable, and their quality is far superior than the American grandaddy, Cadillac. Cadillac you have improved alot, but you can improve more. Also, get a decent windshield and forget that mumbo jumbo nightvision stuff that nobody wants. Quality does count. Remember that.
