We bought our '03 Odyssey used in the summer of 2005. It was a cream puff, just 6,000 miles. We have driven it on various family trips over the past year. Its been a very good vehicle - its reliable, it handles pretty well for a van and it has a lot of amenities (we have the EX-L model, so its loaded).
I do have a few complaints, however.
1) The third-row seatback does not split. This is a really big problem on long trips because it reduces your luggage space. And when you have three little kids (ages 4 and under) like we do, you carry a lot of bags. Since only our oldest child sits in the back seat, it would have been very nice to be able to put the unused seatback down and use the extra space. We went to Florida in February and rented a Chevy Uplander. That vehicle did have a split rear bench and it really made a huge difference.
2) Gas mileage is not very good, especially with the a/c on. This wasn't a problem when gas was $1.50 a gallon but it sure is now. I paid $48 to fill the tank last night.
3) The body structure is a little too rattly, which is surprising for a Honda. It was this way the day we picked it up.
4) Road noise is surprisingly high. I would think the EX-L model would have a lot of sound deadening inside to keep tire and engine noise out.
Overall, the Odyssey is a very good vehicle, but its probably a little overrated, like most Hondas are.
