Recently purchased a choice 2003 Odyssey with 35,000 miles, directly from the original owner. I was moving up from a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. This is my first Honda van, but fourth Honda product, and they just keep getting better. The car is well designed and engineered, very comfortable, very convenient to get in/out and drive. Long trips are less tiring and overall the car is superior to the Dodge. The controls are all easy to see and use. The fold down third seat is a big plus, and if you don't need the length it provides, the deep well in the cargo area greatly increases the capacity for luggage and typical things. The quality of Honda engineering is not just in the visible features, either. Down under- and I have been under- things like stainless steel exhaust impress me.
They didn't miss much.
While the sticker ratings are 18/25 MPG, careful tracking shows just under 28 MPG for highway driving at 70 mph. Not bad for a 4300 lb vehicle with 240 hp! This beats the Dodge as well; it was always a bit under the rated mileage.
This is a great design for a van. They cost a bit more, but they are worth a lot more- while you own it, and when you sell it. Better value now and in the long run.
