I bought a 2003 alero in feburary with only 13,800 miles on it and it was the biggest mistake of my life. at 13,000 miles you would think the car would be mint...WRONG! I owned a manual alero and the clutch vibrated horrible, I was told thats the way they are but it felt my transmission was about to fall out, my calipers made a annoying creaking noise, the struts were squeaking, the left wheel bearing needed to be replaced, I needed to replace the rotors and pads, and the anti theft system kept turning fuel off to the car every couple of weeks for no reason at all so I would have to reset the whole thing...all this before I even reach 18,000 miles!!! Although the car was good on gas, the gx model that I had, had no features such as power windows or sunroof which I dont understand why anyone would make a car in 2003 without those features. After all this I decided to sell the car and I couldnt get rid of it to save my life the resale value dropped tremondouly after only 5,000 miles were added to it, I had to take a $1,500 loss. I own a civic now and I love everything about it, dont waste your money on a alero, it will be the biggest headache of your life!
