We have a major flea infestation in the south and are desperate to find something that works.

After many applications of powders, sprays, oral medications and so on, I tried the Bio Spot Defense flea and tick spot on with applicator.  I used the 13 - 31 pound 3 month supply item and it seems to be doing the trick on my two miniature schnauzers.

The producft promises to kill fleas, ticks, flea eggs, larvae and repel mosquitoes and claims to be water resistant.  The promise is that it will kill or begin to kill fleas and ticks within 15 minutes and after trying out many products with similar claims, this one seems to be holding true.

This product comes with an applicator that one places the disposable tube into and on closing it snaps it open, does not drip and one can use the tip of the applicator to part the dogs hair for ease of application, directly onto the skin. The package states that natural skin oils distribute this product over the entire dog but combing will help.  

Active ingredients total nearly 40% of the product and are Etofenprox, Methoprene and Piperonyl Butoxide.

The three month application (per dog) for 16.69was purchased online and I will order more.  This sounds a little expensive but if it truly works for 30 days as the product promises it will be well worth it as I have spent much, much more on other products that I have tried and failed at flea control.  I have found this very product at a vet's office and local feed store for much more but found it at that price at Drs. Foster and Smith online.

The product is so easy to apply, part hair, dot from shoulders onto skin in three locations towards tail.  My two boys didn't mind this at all since it wasn't very wet/all over, noisy and didn't have a strong offensive odor.  I found that less than 15 minutes after application fleas were easily removed, dead I might add, with a flea comb and despite our current rainy weather and their little excursion outdoors for a run, I am able to see the "medication" on their body (near application sites) and although I found one, yes one flea, I am grateful that it's not the dozens I found on them after using other products.  This product does allow for re-application if necessary but not before 8 days.  It promises to work for 30!!!  What a relief it will be if that holds true.  My father raises beagles that he hunts with and swears by this stuff, says he has very little issue with fleas and not once has he found a tick attached since beginning to use this product.
