Upgraded from my Dirt Devil

My old Dirt Devil portable vacuum finally wore out. It would not hold a charge anymore, plus it was pretty beat up. I had it for 2 years. See my review that I wrote in November 2011.
While I enjoyed my Dirt Devil, I love love love my Black and Decker Bagless portable vacuum for a variety of reasons. Here are my basic specs:
15.6 engine power - powerful 4.6 popunds - lightweight Rotating Nozzle - easily gets to crevices and in cushions Built in tools - nothing to lose No bags or filters!
The number one best feature is the suction power, crumbs, hair, insects, food are all sucked up easily. The sucking mouth is wide enough to handle just about anything. The sucking nozzle rotates which is a great feature too, I can rotate it to get into any crack or tight space to suction. There are two tools (brush and crevise tool) that are attached to the unit, nothing to get lost. This engine is called cyclonic due to the swirling action of the dust inside the dirt cannister. This swirling keeps dust/dirt from lodging onto the filter.
This vaccum lasts about 15 minutes per charge, which is long enough for quick pick up jobs. I use mine a lot in the bathroom to suction hair that is on the floor.
The weight is perfect and the vacuum feels solid. There are no bags or filters to clean - yeah! My previous Dirt Devil had filters that I had to purchase. It was just another hassle and monthly expense that I am glad to be rid of. Now, I can visually see how much dirt is in the cannister and empty as needed. It's an easy and quick dump. If there is any dirt that is caked, I rinse out the cannister. There is a plastic filter that I am keeping an eye on, I don't want any dirt to adher to it which would compromise the suction. I am guessing I will have to rinse this off every month or so although I have not done so yet.
Recharging is easy, the plug goes into the top of handle and it's easy to see via a red light when the unit is fully charged. When charging the red light pulses, when charged it stays lit. I charge it up after every use and use my vacuum daily. It's a lifesaver for quick pick ups when I don't want to drag the full sized vaccum out of the closet.
There are three storing positions, horizontal, vertical or mouted on the wall. I never got around to mounting on the wall, I just keep it plugged in, horizontally on the kitchen floor.
I purchased this vacuum at Bed Bath and Beyond, with the 20% discount ticket and am thrilled with my purchase.
