Pros: It's there when you need it now!
Cons: It's a handheld, not a power vacuum.
One thing the Black & Decker handheld vacuum isn't, is big--big and bulky and stashed away in the closet where it gets used once a week (if you're tidy). And this is what makes it ideal for cleaning up those crumbs that somehow appear under the kitchen table every time you're expecting company. It's also great for vacuuming car mats, seats and various other places inside your vehicle that mysteriously become specked and spotted with leaves and, of course, crumbs.
To keep the B&D handheld handy, I found it best to use the wallmount attached out of sight, just around the corner where you can grab it in a hurry. There has to be an electrical outlet within reach of the charger but that shouldn't present a problem because the wire is quite long. I attached mine a few steps from the kitchen, just inside the garage. In areas where it gets colder than it does here in AZ (below 39 degrees F), mount it inside the home.
I bought mine at Ace with a 30% discount.
The B&D is also easy to look at, clear & colored plastic so you can see what's inside and know to dump the trash and clean the interior. The dust bowl is removed by pressing a button on the handle just in front of the on/off switch.
Two cautions: The two buttons are very cloes, so make sure you press the right one when you want to start or stop the vac. Also, when removing the dust bowel make sure you are holding the vac over a large trash recepticle. The filter is a must-have and re-usable, so don't leave it behind when you dump the dust bowl.
