The Raytheon L265 fish finder is compact and affordable piece of electronic equipment for many types of fisherman. I have had one for a couple years now without any problems. The small, mountable unit easily installs and can be ready for use in about an hour. The menus and setting are simple and easy to understand in day or night with only an arrow curser button and select button . I use it on my 23 ft boat on the river to watch depth to the bottom constantly. It has a settable warning for those shallow spots you want to stay away from. The fish finding capablity is great as well with an alarm for that as well. It has a couple ways to display the fish as well as how big they are, filtering any false alarms. It will also display the type of of bottom, soft or hard. I also take my boat to Lake Erie fish where it is very useful to troll to where the fish are "hanging". This fish finder does have an optional add-on option for a sidelooker as well to see fish off of the port or starboard sides so you can turn your boat into the fish. I'd say for the money, this unit is worth the it.
