Pros: Youthful focus, personalized, space for writing reflections
Cons: only 40 days... I'd like to see a year long devotional in this format
The Bottom Line: A great opportunity to form a habit of devotion, while enjoying yourself.

| manky's Full Review: 40 Days With God: A Devotional Journey Books |
This is a real "hit home" type devotional for today's youth... It challenges you to seriously spend 40 days forming an important habit of devotional time in God's Word and prayer, with immediate application to our everyday lives. With awesome insight from a very trustworthy role-model we can relate with.
By including excerpts from her own journal, Rebecca St James opens herself up to the reader. Rather then your basic 'read a bit and you're done' devotional, this provides the reader with profound questions to ponder, and practical space to actually write down your thoughts. I wrote all over this book, and have saved it to look back on and be reminded of progress... or even regression if that be the case.
For someone who's having difficulty with the discipline of daily interaction with God, this is a wonderful, yet simple, challenge of only 40 days. In those 40 days, you will discover the joy and freedom such scheduled devotion can bring. A warning, this may become a habit you are not too eager to drop!
Also included with this book is an AVCD (Audio/Visual CD) that has the "God" single that you can listen to in your normal CD player, and the capability of playing it through your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM to use an interactive panel of videos, interviews, and extra devotional goodies! Not something you would use on a daily basis, but great fun to explore a few times at least!
