| onabreak2's Full Review: Paychex Payroll Service |
My company has been using Paychex for as long as I have been at the clinic. They have gotten so bad that the office manager is tempted to do the payroll herself.
The hassle with this company far outweighs the convenience that it serves. It has cost me financially because of the method that they use to deduct State and Federal Taxes. You may say that there is only one way to calculate these, but, Paychex seems to have their own.
What I don’t like about this company: When I had a problem with them not taking the proper amount of money out of my check for tax purposes they would not discuss it with me. My boss told me to call them and get it worked out. I called them and they asked me for the password. I told them that I did not have the password nor did I want the password. It was like pulling teeth. They were not taking ANY taxes out of my check and I could not get through to them that they needed to.
I gave them my social security number, my drivers license number. All sorts of numbers but it was not enough to break through their security. Now security is good , but this is worse then any bank that I have used. Paychex does everything over the telephone. The office manager has to call in the payroll. If she is on the phone and has to call them back, she is put on hold for a ridiculous amount of time. I know because I have had to call them for her and wait until they were ready to take their call.
When you sign up with them, you give them all the information of the workers and people that are on the payroll. Including the slips that we make out every year for the deductions that are to be taken out of our check. They keep track of our insurance and other things that are taken out of our check as well as vacation, holiday, all the usual things like that. They are all categorized very neatly on the paystub that we receive.
Some of the payroll companies let you fax the payroll information in. This would be ideal, then you would not have to wait by the phone until they decide to call.
What I like About Paychex: There has never been a problem cashing the checks, they are always delivered by a friendly driver very promptly, rain, ice, sleet, snow. That is about all that I can say nice about this company and I hate to write negative reviews. The service just seems to get worse instead of better with them.
I would not recommend this company to anyone that needs a payroll service. I would have to say to go to one that is more user friendly and one that lets you fax your payroll information in.
