Pros: Products look very pretty online.
Cons: Poor quality, orders shipped late and the number of errors on orders is unforgivable!
The Bottom Line: We suggest that you order elsewhere. Totally Incompetent Management has resulted in a large percentage of orders shipping late, with errors or being totally "lost" in their system. Stay away!

| white-weddings's Full Review: Carlson Craft |
Approximately two years ago we wrote a glowing review about Carlson Craft and dealers who were not happy with them.
At this point in time, we must now say that we are having the same problems.
Carlson Craft used to carry extremely high quality products, provide very good service and made about the average number of errors on orders, compared to other manufacturers of Wedding Invitations.
This is no longer the case.
Our company has been a long time distributor of Carlson Craft products. However, we now find it necessary to drop their product line for a number of reasons.
1) The have added numerous products which are printed on low quality stock.
2) Very few orders are completed on time. Their production department has become so disorganized that they are constantly losing orders or shipping them up to two weeks later than promised.
3) And most important of all, the percentage of errors on orders has reached an inexcusable rate.
We totally agree with "nocarlsoncraft" (Deteriorating Quality and Service). Since the previous President of the company moved on and a new person took over about two years ago, things have steadily gone downhill.
Let us make it clear that there are many wonderful employees working there, who do a great job. The representatives that we deal with on a daily basis are absolutely great. In many cases, they seem to be just as frustrated as many dealers and customers are.
The problems are the result of having totally incompetent Management. The system has completely "fallen apart".
We reached the point in recent months where we are spending more time dealing with their errors than we spend processing new orders. The number of hours spent weekly trying to explain to customers why they have not received their orders, why their orders have been printed with errors 2 or 3 times or how their order could simply be "lost" in Carlson Craft's system simply can no longer be tolerated.
We will no longer offer Carlson Craft products to our customers. As long as the current President and her "cronies" remain in power, we will not carry their products.
Like "nocarlsoncraft", we wonder why owner Glen Taylor has not intervened and replaced the incompetents who are now in charge.
Considering that Carlson Craft is the company that launched his very successful career and started him on the way to becoming the wealthy man he is today, his failure to step in and do something seems very similar to turning his back on his own mother.
We realize that Mr. Taylor has turned over the day-to-day operations of Carlson Craft's parent company (Taylor Corporation), to his daughter, Jean Taylor. Perhaps she should remember that a major part of the income that allowed her to grow up leading a comfortable life and that paid for her education came from Carlson Craft.
In any case, we would advise anyone who is planning a wedding or any other event to choose another company to print your invitations, announcements or whatever.
We also agree that it IS very sad to see what was once a great company "go down the tubes" simply because of an incompetent president and the unqualified people she has put into many Management positions. The great majority of competent Managers and Supervisors have left the company in the past year or two.
Orders should be completed when promised; they should be printed as requested the FIRST time; the system should be set up so that orders are NEVER just "lost"; and most importantly, your employees, your distributors and especially your customers should be treated with respect. None of these practices are being followed.
While Glen Taylor can obviously continue to pump any amount of money needed into the company to keep it afloat, it's probably too late to save its reputation. Once you become known for poor quality, poor service, constant errors and an uncaring attitude, it becomes very hard to overcome such a bad reputation.
It's sad to say, but we really don't expect Mr. Taylor or Jean Taylor to do anything about it. He apparently has made enough money with his other corporations that he no longer cares about Carlson Craft, his distributors or his customers.
