Pros: novel, necessary concept- send and recieve faxes to and from your email!
Cons: rude sales and support staff, privacy concerns, lacks integration with crucial e-document technology
The Bottom Line: Better off just going with a land line and straight forward fax machine.

I just signed up for a 30 trial of the efax plus account and I have to say that at first, I was excited that such an ingenious service was available. I searched for other providers of fax/email integration services and found that Efax was the only one that did not require a dial up fax machine to send desktop faxes. It seemed fairly priced (a low monthly fee and discounted annual fee plus $.10 to send a page).
Well, its been less than 24 hours since signing up and I think Im going to terminate the account. Everything the previous reviewer stated about Efax and their poor service is true. Their software creates poor quality image scans and has no ability to import .pdf files. In addition, after installing the software, you are walked thru a setup wizard that clearly states that it is the user's responsibility to integrate multipage scans prior to faxing that document.
Sooo... to recap that, if you have a 10 page document to fax and a top feader machine, each page will be scanned individually (which creates a separate 8.5"x11" image file for each page), then you have to assemble each individual page into one file using a program outside of their software, save it as an 8.5" X 'one-hundred-ten inch' file, and then it can be faxed like a normal fax machine would do. So unless you have imaging software, you aint faxin' multipage documents unless you want to attatch each file individually to email a fax!
Problem 2, I tried changing my email address from my personal address that I supplied when I signed up for the account to my work address and I was never able to recieve faxes to my work address! Instead failed transmission reports were generated claiming the email address used was not associated with the account.
In addition to their sales and support staff being rude and short with customers, Efax will not activate your account without first issuing a precarious warning to review and accept the terms of the user agreement. Then, they claim that failure to formally accept the user aggreement via a link in your account within 24 hrs will result in them assuming that you have accepted the terms. THEY TELL YOU THIS RIGHT AFTER YOU GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD TO ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT!! RED FLAG, RED FLAG, RED FLAG!!!!
Be wary of ANY company telling you to review their user agreement as if they were "issuing a formal warning" to you.
Bottom line: an incredibly novel concept, an absulute necessity for mobile professionals...
BUT: not worth the hassle, time, and jeopardized privacy
