| SParkfan77's Full Review: FedEx 2Day |
Do you purchase merchandise online? Have you ever been shipped something that was late or in bad condition? Fed Ex is a well known delivery service that I have had very unpleasant experiences with in the past.
I shop at Amazon.com, EB World and basically anything else that sell videogames online. They both have used Fed Ex at one time of another, and every time they do, I always get the bad end of the deal. I have had two bad experiences on two separate deliveries with this service. Both of the shipments were videogames.
Bad Shipping
I purchased Virtua Tennis for the Sega Dreamcast at EB World. I selected two day air shipping. This cost $8. I patiently waited for my package. I waited two days. Than three days. Finally five days after the day that I ordered it, I finally received my videogame. I called Fed Ex and EB World on the third day why I didn’t receive it. They both said that I should have gotten it that day. It shipped out a few hours after I had ordered it. Its not like they had a short supply and weren’t shipping. If that were the case, I would have understood.
Bad Service on the Phone
This is a problem that I have for almost every order I make. When a order something online and Fed Ex is shipping it, they usually deliver to me in the morning. I sleep as late as I can so I miss the drop off. They leave a tag on your doorknob saying that I wasn’t there to sign my name. If you sign it then, they will leave your package the following day or you can pick it up at the Fed Ex offices about five miles from my house. There is also an option to fill out the back of the tag. This will make all of your deliveries dropped off at your house, and never have to be signed for. I filled that form out. About a week later, I received another shipment, once again, another tag! Now I was mad. I called Fed Ex to complain stating that I filled out the form so they could drop any future packages at my house without my signature. They said that I was on their list to drop off without my signature. This made me extremely angry. For those of you saying that it is only one more day that I have to wait, and want to know what the big deal is, well I’ll tell you. Anyone that is a die-hard videogame fan like me, a day is an awful a lot of time to wait. Especially when you think that you could have been playing it, if it weren’t for the company that made a mistake shipping it to you. I received the package the next day, finally.
My most recent order was the one that clinched me from never having anything delivered from Fed Ex ever again. After I made the order, I called them to make sure that they were going to leave it at my door. They acknowledged it and there I was to wait. A few days later, I checked the door every hour or so for my package, assuming that it will be left there rather than a tag that I specially opposed for. To my surprise, when I checked back at my door, there was a tag on my doorknob, with that corny message stating that they missed me. I saw the truck drive down the street, too far for me to run. I have missed my package once again.
Has this happened to you? This was a collection of my delivery horror stories that I have experienced. Ironically enough, they are all from Fed Ex. Surprise, surprise. If you are like me and cannot wait an extra day to get your game that you saved up for weeks for, than definitely don’t get deliver from Fed Ex. Have it delivered from either Priority Mail or UPS. It is just too much unnecessary work to go through while using Fed Ex. I have better things to do, like playing videogames. The customer service seemed to be helpful, but only to find that they did nothing to help me.
Bottom Line: Stay away at all costs!
