Pros: Very good options - surprisingly inexpensive
Cons: I did not face any problems yet
The Bottom Line: Little extras make this company a winner. I will send my check through USPS, but I would want my Camcorder shipped through Fedex - Dig?

| sailesh's Full Review: FedEx Ground |
I have used Fedex, UPS and USPS for shipping frequently for more than four years. Over this period, given a choice, I have gravitated towards shipping using Fedex more often. Given a choice, I would want to receive my items through Fedex too. Fedex is the most flexible, convenient and reliable shipping option when compared to the other guys such as UPS, USPS, AirBorne et al. Here are a few advantages
Delivery is very easy to arrange. If you are not at home when your package arrives, you can pick it up the same evening from your Fedex location. For an extra fee, Fedex even arranges an evening delivery. UPS makes you wait for three days before allowing you to pick your stuff! Air Borne is bad and their drivers are lazy . If you live a little out of the way, do not be surprised if they do not even attempt to make a delivery and claim that (all) the (three) notification slips they affixed to your door flew away (this really happened to me)!
Coming to rates, I recently shipped a large package (37" long, 24" wide and 21" high - weighing 55 pounds) through Fedex Ground shipping. USPS and UPS charge a lot more for a package like this. Fedex charged very reasonably. You can check the rates for yourself online, at their websites using the package dimensions I gave above.
Variety of services is one more aspect of Fedex that earns my appreciation. It is like a one stop shop for shipping. Fedex has a freight service for extra large packages. They have several options for domestic shipping, and they have a good line of international shipping options.
Their service is very reliable. They have a state-of-the-art tracking and communication system that can track your package very precisely. They have locations everywhere, and drop boxes can be found at virtually every street corner. They provide free supplies for a variety of goods.
I am very satisfied with Fedex for my shipping needs. I believe they are a nice and solid company. They have a reputation that they strive to protect. Their staff is helpful and courteous (can't say the same for Airborne). I know many large corporations that use Fedex for their shipping. So, they are a shipping company for one and all, big and small.
