A few years ago my mother in law was guaranteed a delivery to us from UPS on a certain day, and UPS failed to keep their word. My mother in law was very upset as were we, but we continued to use their service thinking that one time was ok, but if it ever happened again we would never use their service again.
Well, guess what happened? UPS has failed to keep their word to us again. We recently made a move across country and before we left Maryland I had to send some boxes to my parents house because I was planning on having to reside with them till military housing became available (it was supposed to be at least 4 months). My packages made it to Tennessee and I was very happy. The delivery was guaranteed on a certain day; however it did arrive a day late, but I left it at that. I was still in Maryland getting ready to start our travels so I was not too upset with the situation.
Military housing became available before we had expected and my family and I came across to California from Tennessee. Those same boxes that I had sent to Tennessee had to come across to California. My mother went to UPS last Wednesday and dropped the boxes off. The lady told her they would be here no later than Tuesday, but should have arrived Monday. Where are my boxes now? Not here at my house that is for sure.
Yesterday I called UPS and talked to a customer service representative and as in the past I was treated like pure dirt. I told the representative that my delivery was supposed to be here on Monday according to what they told my mother. He went on to tell me that my boxes were on a truck in transit and they would not be here till Friday. WHAT!!!!!!!! No I don't think so. I told him that I do not understand why they would tell my mother that the packages would be delivered on a certain day and now they are telling me it is going to be four days later. He was very rude, I just said thank you and hung up the phone.
My problem with UPS and all their services, of course this being ground is that they are not punctual. The customer service is very disappointing. When you put your trust in a company, especially a well known company, you expect to be treated with respect. I was not and I am very irrate with UPS.
I paid hundreds of dollars to get my boxes shipped here. I sent the check out to reimburse my mother and she received the check within two days. Yes, I do understand there is a difference between boxes and letters and the USPS and UPS ; however, I do not understand why UPS told my mother I would have my belongings Monday and to make matters worse customer service talked down to me.
To make a long story short, I will never use UPS again. I would rather spend the extra and use another carrier who will be more reliable. Three strikes and you are out. I spend hundreds of dollars shipping boxes each year because we are military, but I will start using a different service. Please, if you decide to use UPS , whether it be ground in my case or any of their other services, beware. Punctuality with that big brown truck is ridiculous as is their customer service. Spend the extra money and go with another delivery service. Cheaper is not always better.
Sorry Dale Jarrett, I love Nascar, but I hate your sponsor! Happy fourth to all!!
