Pros:Great service, reasonable price
Cons:Service has some delays, mail early on any upcoming holidays!
The Bottom Line: They offer a great service for mailing goods. I do recommend their service.

I use this service whenever I have items that are big bulky or just need to use a box. If I have papers that would fit into the pouch, I just use brown envelopes, and First Class Mail. They are very similar. Although as most people I have had packages or letters that didn't arrive as expected. My clerk said to use the Priority Mail, and I still had the same dilemma. I really think it is just way too much mail for the system to handle or they need more workers. I haven't figured it out yet and probably never will.

Now just last week I had sent a package to IL and I mailed it on a Thursday. In the Priority Mail box, do you know it got to its destination in two days! I was shocked. I figured it wouldn't show up for at least 3 or 4 days. She called me on Saturday and said the box was there. Must be due to the fact that it is a time of season where there are no major holidays, and there is no reason for a mail rush.

If using Priority you will find the cost to be $3.50 for up to 2 pounds. They offer several different sizes of boxes, usually rectangular and long, and there are some 12 x 12 square boxes I have found. But they are hard to come by. Even some major branches don't have them at times. They offer a pouch for letters or papers, about the size of your standard brown envelope. Usually I use the brown envelope and fasten the clip on there before I tuck it into a pouch. You can send it certified, or add some insurance to these mailings. Insurance is usually less then a dollar for about $10 coverage. You can also get priority labels in bulk for at home use on any other type box or envelope you choose to use. You don't have to use their boxes.

Rates as of Jan. 1, 2001:

Up to 1 pound $3.50
Up to 2 pounds 3.95
Up to 3 pounds 5.15
Up to 4 pounds 6.35
Up to 5 pounds 7.55

I recommend the Priority Mail for all needs.
