Case Knife Yellow Handle

Case is recognized as one of the makers of premium quality jackknives prized by whittlers and outdoorsmen.  This is a triple-bladed stockman knife with a yellow plastic handle.

Case makes many models of knives and also has collectors who try to collect one of every variety - and there are many when you count all the sizes, shapes, and handle materials.  I have several Case jackknives myself and they are very fine jackknives and serve all my purposes well, which mostly consist of opening mail, zipping open plastic packaging, and cleaning my fingernails but I do use them for other work as necessary.

The main thing to remember about Case knives is they are made of good quality heat treated steel, and natural materials, like bone or leather handles. Another important thing is that all Case knives are made by hand in the United States.  Made in USA is a good thing.

I got this knife recently.  It is a Stockman type knife with three blades of standardized shapes according to the stockman pattern. The naturally shaped handle is comfortable and the yellow handle scales give a nice appearance that is easy to find if you drop it in a dark place like the forest. The overall size is 3 5/8 inches closed so it is a large knife.

There is a 2 1/2" Clip blade for the large blade and a smaller Pen and Sheepfoot blades which you can see in the picture. The Sheepfoot is the one that is hinged at the same point as the Clip blade.

The knife blades are made of premium quality chrome vanadium steel that are shaped each with a single edge ending in the various style points shown in the picture.  A clip point is one that has an angle in the back that tapers from the widest part of the blade down to the point. The pen is a smaller blade with a single edged spear shaped point. The Sheepfoot has the straight edge with the back curving down to it like a sheep's hoof.

The blades are mirror polished for a great appearance and also leave no crevices for dirt to accumulate should you actually use the knife and these knives are great for using.  As long as you take care of this knife and don't lose it it will last a life time.

The working part of the largest blade is 2 1/2 inches long and the overall length of the knife is 6 1/4 inches.

Keep it sharp; keep it clean; and oil the joints to keep it as good as new for as long as you care to own it.
