At my original visit to my new dermatologist, she recommended I bathe or shower with CeraVe hydrating cleanser.  At my last visit, after having a horrible experience with Clinique’s Acne Solutions, she recommended I begin to wash my face with CeraVe foaming facial cleanser.  I have been using these products and I am very satisfied with both.  The following is a review on the facial cleanser.

Description:
 
CeraVe foaming facial cleanser is contained in the same type of bottle as the hydrating cleanser.  The only difference is the colors of pumps.  The facial cleanser has a green pump, whereas the hydrating cleanser has a white pump.  The 12 ounce bottle is white in color with the Word “CeraVe foaming facial cleanser” written across the front.

When the facial cleanser is dispensed from the pump, it is clear in color and of medium consistency.  There is no scent or fragrance.  The formula works up to a good lather when combined with water and massaged into the face.

The facial cleanser is recommended for those with normal to oily skin.  It helps to repair and restore the protective skin barrier.  The product is non-comedogenic.  It is formulated with ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid.  The cleanser removes dirt, oil, and makeup.  It was developed by dermatologists.

My Experience:
 
At the time of my last visit to my dermatologist, my face was so irritated and red, that I was willing to try anything to soothe my discomfort.  The doctor gave me a sample bottle of CeraVe foaming facial cleanser to try and I used it the same night.

I appreciated the fact that the cleanser had no scent or fragrance and felt so soothing to my face.  Upon adding water and massaging into my face, it worked up a significant amount of later.  After thorough rinsing, my face felt squeaky clean with no irritation whatsoever.  It removed my excess oil and all my makeup, including my wash-off/waterproof mascara.  After blotting dry, my face felt very smooth with no residue.

My Take:
 
I found out after using Clinique Acne Solutions, that I was allergic to salicylic acid.  Besides skin irritation, my face broke out in welts.  CeraVe facial cleanser came to my rescue.  I will not be cleansing my face with any other cleanser, for I am completely satisfied with CeraVe.  I can now apply Afirm3X to my face which I could not when I used Clinique’s Acne Solutions.
