| mammatus's Full Review: Fellowes P400C-2 Shredder |
The warranty on the shredder says "1 year parts and labor, 3 years on cutting rollers". Now I see why. Recently mine was slipping and upon opening it up, I found that the driving gears are made of plastic. Because of a 3 sheet workload, the slippage and pressure on the plastic gear teeth had caused them to bend, therefore making the rollers "jump" when it rolled over that bent tooth. I have never been pleased with the small, strangely wedge shaped repository (straight, garbage can type would have at least held a little more) because of the constant need to empty. Fellowes needs to evaluatate all their shedder repositories of this style for two things, maximum capacity with a slightly elevated height/depth, and the give some room between the shedder and the maximum fill level (I dispise picking up shred from the floor that is spilling out and getting caught up on the reverse of the shredder).
