I have been a victim. I went to balance my checkbook one evening and found charges through our check card for $3400.00 worth of flowers. Now that is a heck of a lot of flowers. My first reaction was to freak out. Then calling husband to make sure he did not order flowers (not that I thought he did but had to make sure before reporting this to the bank). The bank was helpful and reversed the charges. They suggested getting a paper shredder as they have had several claims just like ours over the past month.
So I what did I ask my mother in law for Christmas. Well a paper shredder of course. Christmas morning came and I got my shredder. I got the Fellowes P400C Confetti Cut Shredder. This Christmas will be a year since I got it and I absolutely love it. No more worrying about my private stuff being gone through. I now shred everything. I mean everything. If it resembles a piece of paper in the shredder it goes. Best of all it is a great way to recycle.

I have never had problems with mine and still shreds as great as it did the first day. No worries about kids getting hurt them as it was made child friendly. The blades cant get damaged due to staples either. I put it all in there staples and all. It all comes out in tiny pieces that is impossible to put back together.
So if you want the privacy and don't want to chance your personal numbers and things getting out there I highly suggest a paper shredder. I also highly recommend the Fellowes P400C Confetti Cut Shredder.
