Parrothead2000's Full Review: Microsoft (K80-00004) Mouse
This mouse squeaks. Yes, it sounds funny, until you get stuck with this miserable squeaking mouse.
The parts that squeak are the buttons. Click the button the right way, and it squeaks. Just leaving some slight pressure on the button causes the mouse to squeak. Move the mouse around on the mousepad and "squeak squeak."
I've been using mice for over ten years. I've used many mice. This is the first mouse I've ever used that squeaks.
I tried two of these mice. They both squeaked. Obviously it's not a flaw with one bad mouse. They all don't work.
The quality of this mouse is simply unacceptable. Yes, it's wireless, that's nice. Logitech also makes wireless mice that don't squeak.
Furthemore, the first one I had stopped working altogether. It just stopped communicating with the computer after I used it for a few hours. The replacement I got worked for a week, but it kept squeaking.
This mouse is junk stay away.
[For those who are going to ignore my advice to stay away from this mouse, here is some other info about it. It has a cool silver and blue color scheme. It plugs into either the USB port or PS/2 mouseport. It uses two AA batteries. Batteries are included. It seems to work find with rechargeable nicad batteries. I know someone else who has this mouse and she never changed the batteries yet, but I'm not sure if her mouse squeaks or not.]
