Pros: Sturdily built, includes SMprep utility.
Cons: OnDVD software might not be useful.
The Bottom Line: Very well built reader, some other readers do not support the SMprep utility, the Dazzle does.

I own two digital cameras that use Smartmedia cards for picture storage. It's possible to connect the cameras to a PC directly via a USB cable, but a media reader can save time, hassle, and camera batteries. There's many brand of readers available, but I chose the Dazzle for several reasons. Number one, the reader comes with a utility called "SMprep.exe" that can reformat damaged media cards. I had a 64MB card that was readable by a MP3 player I own, but neither of my cameras would recognize it. By running the handy SMprep utility, I was able to rescue my damaged card, it now works normally with both of my cameras.
The Dazzle reader is made of a tough, slightly rubbery plastic, and feels very solid, unlike some other brands. It works perfectly with Windows XP.
The OnDVD software that is included with the reader does not recognize my DVD/CDRW combo drive, so it is useless to me. it is somewhat disabled, as it does not have the ability to add audio files to the CD. I did not buy the reader for the OnDVD software, though, so no big loss for me.
I would definitely recommend the Dazzle reader to anyone who owns a device that utilizes Smartmedia cards. Just don't expect too much from the "bonus" OnDVD program.
