Good price and performance

Pros: Good price, performance was good and so far very reliable.
Cons: The one touch feature. It did not work for me.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this drive because of its large storage, having both USB and firewire interfaces, and for its price.

I bought two of these last year because I wanted to store videos, digital pictures, etc. I did not put much expectations into the performance due to the price I paid for them but they perform quite well.
You can use USB 1.1, 2.0 or firewire interfaces to your computer (though you must choose only one). I choose firewire because it is faster and because you can chain the devices together keeping wire clutter to a minimum.
One thing I found after chaining the drives together was the "last" drive in the chain performed slower than the first (the one directly connected to the computer). You sort of expect that to happen but not that noticeable. So I hooked it directly to the computer (I have 2 firewire slots) and it performed fine.
I have put some "odd" things on my hard drives so I warn you the rest of this review will be a little strange.
I use one of the drives for digital storage and for storing backups of all the computers in the house (5 computers using Retrospect backup software). I also put all my games and I record video from a tv tuner card to this drive. Probably the recording and play back is the most stressful thing I do on this one drive but it preformas well.
I use a program called VMWare to create virtual machines on my computer (imagine running 2 or more versions of Windows and/or Linux on one destop). All the virtual machines run off of the other hard rive. In other words, I have 5 operating systems (3 windows and 2 linux) installed on this drive. When running all at the same time I put the poor drive to the test but performance is not as bad as I expected and actually is quite acceptable.
Overall I am very happy with both of these drives.
