Got one for my computer semi-literate mother about a year ago. Since then, I've gotten one for 2 neices and 2 friends, all of whom love them. They're easy to setup and configure, and the Mac OS/GUI is so easy and intuitive that even my computer-phobic sister in law managed to get going in just a few minutes.

Older models can be purchased really cheap these days, and the hi-end models now come with all kinds of nice bells and whistles: DVD players, FireWire, iMovie (the last 2 work great together with your Digital Video camcorder to make your own home movies).

iMac. You just can't go wrong with it.
