First impressions....

Pros: Easy set up, blazing fast, decent price

They say first impressions are the most important. How true. I once inquired about an IMac at CompUSA and the salesman told me in a few months, IMacs woould be coming as "Free Inside" toys in cereal boxes, that they were worthless pieces of junk. Well, I recently decided to take a step out in faith and look into these little beauties.
I checked a few magz and the system that hit my eye was the IMac DVSE. Being a comm student in Film & Video, the DVSE system struck me as a system I could get some serious work done on. So I took that step out in faith...and asked my dad to buy one for me. OUCH! Well, it took a bit of nudging, but he finally snapped and bough it for my birthday/X-mas present.
I though at first...ONE BOX...hoooo boy! The I opened it. A power cord later, my IMac was up and running. Haven't had a problem yet.
You've probably read other Epinions that dscuss the setup, so I won't go into it. Two words...five minutes. The system is really fast and the 30 gig hard drive is a blessing. It fills up quick with video data, but after I make my edits, and I'm totally happy, I usually delete them, freeing up all that space once again.
I have only had it a few days, so to go into too much detail would be impossible. I installed Edit DV on the system and have already completed my first video, in one whole whooping hour, that's how fast this sucker is! The modem is standard, and there are two USB and two firewire ports, so there's lots of upgrade possibility. The RAM is easy to access via a panel on the back of the unit, plus it's real quiet, another blessing.
I'm pleased so far. I'll update if I start having massive problems.
