My Compaq computer is the absolute worst computer purchase that I have ever made. I have regretted getting it from the first day. Many problems have plagued this computer that I have not experienced with computers that I have owned in the past.
Shortly after my purchase, the computer started to lock up for no reason at all. I have been in the middle of important work projects, been on the internet, been playing games, or just writing a simple letter when it will suddenly freeze in place. Nothing remedies the situation. The computer HAS to be turned off and rebooted. It may take several attempts before it is ready to work.
Another problem that I have experienced with this computer is having a lot of "Illegal Operation" errors. There have been times when I have been doing a defrag and received an "Illegal Operation" error. Of course, that means that the task comes to an end and you must start all over. Usually, I have to reboot the computer before I can overcome the problem.
The sound card did not work from the first day. Circuit City had all kinds of excuses why the sound failed. They sent it off for repair but returned it just as it left (except scratched and marked up more than the time before). An acquaintance finally fixed the problem a few weeks ago.
This is a purchase that I regret. I am totally frustrated with the product and cannot recommend it to anyone. I will never buy another Compaq computer.
