| ray_rwm's Full Review: Hewlett Packard Pavilion 8562 (D9962A#ABA) PC Desk... |
Bought this HP pavilion Christmas of 1999, thinking that this HP would be good quality as the HP Vectras we use at work. To my supprise, the parts used by HP to build this system are noticeably inferior then the parts they use to build HP Vectras.
The CD rom drive makes very loud noises since when it was new and HP said it was normal. The hard drive also makes very loud clicking noise after only a couple of months, but HP refused to replace any part that is still in working condition.
Just about 5 weeks ago, the hard drive finally stop spinning, brought it to local HP authorized repair shop, took them 2 weeks to tell me what's wrong with the system, and another 2 weeks for HP the send them the replacement hard drive, and 3 more days to put in the new hard drive.
In my opinion, if you can afford to be with out your computer for more than a month, and you can afford to loose important data, then go get a HP. My next computer won't be an HP.
