| cm007i's Full Review: eMachines etower 466id PC Desktop |
Best deal I ever got on a computer. College student, computer runs 24/7 with minimal problems. Web runs great, probably because of the T1 connection. Runs most games reasonably well (Quake, Half Life, Unreal) but it is difficult to control DVD playback. cost $400 after a $75 rebate. I got a great deal because I had a rain check for a 400i and they gave me the 466id. One complaint is that the motherboard is incorrectly mounted so that I can only use 1 of the 3 open expansion slots. Another is that the input jack for the integrated sound doesn't work. I've heard horror stories about eMachines tech support so I think I will live with these problems. This computer is great for penny pinchers and newbies, as long as they have techie friends to help them get started.
